Intro
01Carved from the mountain
Above Lake Geneva, this retreat takes its cue from the surrounding rock. We worked in a tight tonal range of stone and mineral greys, letting texture, not colour, carry the emotion of each room.

Challenge
02Warmth in a monochrome world
A grey palette can turn severe in winter light. We introduced hand-split stone, lime plaster, deep-pile rugs and curved bouclé forms, and placed warm lamplight low, at the level of the body.

The Lantern Ledge
Hand-split limestone, raw ceramic vessels and twin plaster lamps casting a low, warm glow.

The Fireside Chair
A curved grey bouclé armchair beneath a paper pendant and floating plaster shelves.

Touching the walls is the first thing every guest does.

Outcome
03A sanctuary of texture
The home now feels sheltered and sculptural, a place to gather by the fire after a day in the mountains, where every surface invites the hand.
